Abstract

GNU \(_{\scriptsize{\rm MACS}}\)is a free mathematical text editor, which can also be used as an interface for several computer algebra systems and other mathematical software, such as Scilab, GNU R, etc. Its primary aim is to offer an alternative to , which achieves a similar typesetting quality, but also provides a user friendly WYSIWYG interface. This user friendliness makes \(_{\scriptsize{\rm MACS}}\)suitable for a broader audience, such as high school education.
