Noise Performance of a Finite Uniform Cascade of Two-Port Networks

Abstract

The noise performance of a lumped passive uniform cascade of identical element two port networks is investigated. The N-block network is characterized in close form based on the eigenvalues of the element two-port ABCD transmission matrix. The thermal noise performance is derived and demonstrated in several examples.
