Abstract
Digitized mammograms offer the opportunity for efficient storage and transmission of data between remote imaging and centralized reading sites. One of the primary questions which affects the widespread acceptance of this technology is the minimum spatial resolution required to obtain the same diagnostic accuracy as that of film-screen mammograms. Therefore, the goal of this study was to determine whether the diagnostic accuracy of secondarily digitized films (spatial resolution = 0.1 mm, image size = 2048 × 2048 pixels) is equivalent to that of film-screen mammograms.
