Abstract

In today’s fascinating world of technology, much advancement is being done in various fields of science. However, the field which is showing the most rapid growth in modern times is brain–computer interface. One extremely effective tool for this purpose is Emotiv EPOC headset. The present research focuses on the process of creating a novel BCI that makes the use of the Emotiv EPOC system to measure EEG waves and then it consequently controls the robot. The experiments are performed on 30 different subjects and the obtained results have been analyzed to confirm the usage of the data for the actuation and the control of numerous actuators. The paper presents how video processing can be used to control the robotic arm. The use of video processing gives a new dimension to the variety of applications. The objective is also to provide a low-cost brain-controlled robotic arm.
