Abstract
This paper presents a modified particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm for the selection of controller parameter for a Ćuk converter-fed PMBLDCM drive. The main objective of the proposed algorithm for controller optimization is to achieve power factor correction (PFC) at AC mains of the PMBLDCM drive. The PSO is modified to achieve the above objectives for a PMBLDC motor rated as 1.01 KW, 3000 rpm, 310 V, and 3.2 Nm. The complete drive is designed, modeled, and its performance is simulated in MATLAB-Simulink. The simulated results of the drive are presented to demonstrate the desired power quality at AC mains along with the desired speed and torque for the searched values of the controller parameters.
