Abstract

To reduce the quantity of data without excessively reducing the quality of the multimedia data is called compression. Compressed multimedia data are faster for transition and storing as compared to the original uncompressed multimedia data. For JPEG and JPEG 2000 images there are various techniques and standards for data compression. These standards consist of different functions such as color space conversion and entropy coding. Huffman codes and B-codes are normally used in the entropy coding phase.
