Robust Steganography via Patch-Based Texture Synthesis

Abstract

We propose a novel patch-based texture synthesis approach for steganography, which has the characteristics of high quality, high embedding capacity and even can be applied to the pictures with lossy compression. Our scheme is to embed the information in the process of generating the texture image, and ensure the high similarity between the synthetic texture and the source texture. Our approach has the following advantages. First, our method can offer different embedding capacity which depends on the size of the synthetic image. Second, our method not only can be well used in the images with lossless compression, but also can be applied to the images with lossy compression and has an extremely low bit error rate. Experimental results have verified that our method achieves state-of-the-art results on steganography with lossy compression.
