Abstract
Maximum accuracy for all arithmetic operations is the current requirement of computer arithmetic [2].
Maximum accuracy for standard functions is concisely defined, and a sufficient condition for establishing this property is stated. As an example an algorithm to computez y (z>0) with maximum accuracy is given. To employ this algorithm it is sufficient to have approximations of the exponential and logarithmic function of a specified precision and to carry out the intermediate calculation with a mantissa length appropriate to that precision.

Maximale Genauigkeit für alle arithmetischen Operationen ist die heutige Forderung der Rechenarithmetik [2].
Maximale Genauigkeit für Standardfunktionen wird in dieser Arbeit auf übersichtliche Weise definiert. Ein Algorithmus zur Berechnung vonz y (z>0) mit maximaler Genauigkeit wird angegeben. Für den Algorithmus genügt es, Approximationen für die Exponential- und Logarithmusfunktion mit ausreichender Genauigkeit zur Verfügung zu haben und die Zwischenresultate mit geeigneter Mantissenlänge zu berechnen.
