Abstract
An account is given of the results of two studies aimed at obtaining general public user requirements for future telecommunication services. The results provide an indication of which future telecommunication services are thought to be most important by the general public and also the criteria by which general public users evaluate the services that they are offered. Some comparisons between the needs of business users and the needs of general public users are explored.
