Abstract

This paper reviews the activities of the Institute for Waterpower and Pumps in the use of CA-methods for the development and construction of Hydroelectric Power Plants. After discussing the role of CAST/CASE in the problem solving process and explaining the methodologies in modelling and designing of the power plant, we show typical examples of solutions out of the software packages, which have been developed at the Institute.
