Abstract

In this article, we propose a solution for the distributed object oriented database design. Our work is based on a top-down approach. Notably, we concentrate on the allocation step that allows to place the object class fragments and the methods onto sites of the distributed system. In this aim, we defined an objective function that minimizes the storage and the communication costs. We completed this presentation by the proposal of a heuristic.
