Abstract

A bluff-body stabilized non-premixed syngas flame has been computed using a research Computational Fluid Dynamics code. Simulated data agree well with experiments. Parallelization was achieved by domain decomposition, using MPI as a message passing protocol. Results for only 4 processors on a typical cluster of workstations and on the Cray T3E show strong dependence on the amount of grid points per processor. On a dedicated workstation a speed-up of 3.5 out of 4 is possible.
