Abstract

For many I/O intensive problems, an effective file system has to respect hard application. specific constraints. This is why it is reasonable to assume that each program requiring high performance I/O needs a dedicated file system tailored to its own specifications. In this paper we present the design of a high performance file system built using modules. This system is aimed at matching the needs of a large class of applications.
