Abstract

This paper addresses an issue associated with representing information using conceptual graphs. This issue concerns the great variability in approaches that individuals use with regard to the conceptual graph representation and the ontologies employed. This great variability makes it difficult for individual authors to use results of other authors. This paper lays out all of these differences and the consequences on the ontologies. It compares the ontologies and representations used in papers presented at the International Conference on Conceptual Structures in 1997. This comparison illustrates the diversity of approaches taken within the CG community.
