Mark Ginsburg (PhD, New York University) is President of Seventh Rank Associates, (http://www.seventhrank.com), an Electronic Medical Records software company. He has taught Software Development and Data Communications at the University of Arizona, UC Berkeley, and NYU. His research interests are in the areas of collaborative computing, visualization of large-scale digital libraries, open standards, and practical problems pertaining to document management, knowledge management, and e-business strategies. His research articles have appeared in Communications of ACM, J. CSCW, IEEE Computer, J. Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems, and the Electronic Markets Journal. From 1994–1996, he was the lead developer on the flagship EDGAR on the Internet project; the first large-scale dissemination of government data (corporate disclosure statements) to the general public. He also has extensive consulting experience at financial services firms. He is a member of IEEE, ACM, and SIGGROUP and is a corresponding member of the IEEE-affiliated Medical Technology Policy Committee.

Petra Schubert is professor for E-Business and director of the research institute at the School of Business of the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland. She holds a masters degree in Information and Technology Management from the University of St. Gallen and a masters degree in International Management (MIM) from the Community of European Management Schools (CEMS). In 1998, she spent one year as a visiting scholar at the Haas School of Business (University of California at Berkeley). She is cofounder and board member of the Ecademy, the Swiss national competence network for E-Business and E-Government.

Prof. Schubert authored one of the first books on Virtual Communities of Transactions and is a regular mini track chair for this topic at HICSS and AMCIS. She has written and co-edited several books, including “Digital Success,” “Successfully Planning and Realizing E-Business,” “Fulfillment in E-Business,” “Procurement in E-Business,” “E-Business Integration,” “E-Business with Business Software,” and “Integrated Business Processes with Business Software.”
