Abstract

Human resources (HR) of any organization plays a significant role in construction and growth of the company by designating efficient and competent employees. To achieve its long-term socio-economic goals, an organization should make human resource happy and satisfied. In recent years, HR services has integrated with Information Technology (IT) in the form of human resource information system (HRIS), Enterprise resource Planning (ERP), HR analytics, data mining etc. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an emerging technology in technological advancements domain of business practices which helps the organization to develop at a large scale. With the invention of chatbots, which is a significant domain in AI and natural language processing, the organizations have become more AI centric. A bot is considered to be an effective communication system which can be used among the employees as well as customers for performing some communication-oriented works within an organization without any human intervention. The AI driven technology makes the complex problems into simplified solutions. Chatbots not only influences the organizational decision-making process, but it also facilitates a better understanding of AI among the employees within an organization. Therefore, to authenticate the usefulness of chatbots in a human resource management system, we encapsulated the functionality of chatbots in real time scenario. In this work, an overview of the chatbots in HRM, often called as a HR-bot, is studied to emphasise the usefulness in real time considering the relevant challenges such as cost factor, complex business domains, limited responsiveness etc.
