Abstract

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is used for high speed communication but carrier frequency offset (CFO) creates problem in the working of OFDM and introduces loss of orthogonality between the subcarriers and gives rise to Inter Carrier Interference (ICI). The main causes of ICI are instability of local oscillators and Doppler affect. For the solution of CFO problem, self cancellation method is being proposed in literature, which is quite effective and simple. In this paper, we have proposed self cancellation in wavelet based OFDM system. The wavelet based system reduces the ICI affect with the use of self cancellation method. Bit error rate has been used as performance parameter for simulation results. Results give clear improvement over conventional OFDM system.
