Aperture Field Estimation in E Plane and H-Plane T-Junctions Using Field Theoretic Analysis

Abstract

This paper presents method of moment based analysis of E Plane and H-Plane T-junctions to find the field distributions on different transverse and longitudinal apertures of the junctions. The results show existence of higher order modes at the discontinuities and their effects on aperture field distributions. The analysis is helpful to estimate the existing modes and their possible strengths at the aperture. This, in turn, will be helpful to develop matching networks and/or further modifications of the networks.
