Abstract
As the loading equipment of the dye cell, the dye cycle system provides an important guarantee for the performance of the dye cell. The dye cycle system is widely used in laser, wastewater treatment, and utilization. As the core part of the dye cycle system, the dye cell is difficult to maintain the uniformity of the flow state due to its special internal structure. The dye cell is tested by building a visual test bench. Based on the particle image velocimetry and the background-oriented schlieren, the flow state and the refractive index of the dye cell under three different flow velocities are analyzed. The results show that the distribution of streamline in the dye cell is uniform. The velocity gradient increases with the increase of velocity, and the velocity in the middle is higher than on both sides. When flow velocity is 5.99 m/s, the range of the refractive index is from 0.99989 to 1.00015. When flow velocity is 7.82 m/s, the range of the refractive index is from 0.99985 to 1.00025. When flow velocity is 9.80 m/s, the range of the refractive index is from 0.99983 to 1.00025.
