Abstract
Cloud and its features are attracting mass communities towards itself. The reason for the same is cheap and the best possible resources are available on a shared basis. Tools and techniques are required to manage the resources over the cloud. OpenStack provides this functionality. This paper presents the demonstration of two most commonly used network management tools including NOVA and SNMP. The work highlights the advantages and disadvantages along with the architecture of each. The comparative analysis highlights the main features present within each tool. It is discovered that security is a concern associated with both the tools. The investigation of NOVA and SNMP suggests that the SNMP mechanism is better as compared to NOVA. This is cheaper and light-weighted to manage resources over the network. The paper is comprehensive and comparative analysis is presented in tabular format. Characteristics and commands to use these tools are also given in this paper.
