Recursive fading memory smoothing

Abstract

The recursive fading memory filter equations for time-continuous and time-discrete systems presented in Ref. 1 is extended here to the fixed-interval smoothing case. The three standard forms of the smoothing equations are derived, and practical aspects of their implementation are discussed.
