Abstract

We propose a method for the detection of lamellibranch growth anomalies during larval phases. A planar shape representation of the larva is given from which a contour invariant feature extraction is deducted. From a statistical analysis of these features, larva average templates are derived, allowing age discrimination and automatic control of the growth.
