Abstract

A microprocessor-based diskette system for replacement of high-speed punch paper tape Input/Output functions is described. The system was designed for an educational laboratory environment. Thus, it was designed to emulate paper tape I/O functions to cause minimal problems for students making the transition from paper tape to diskette I/O, while providing for faster, more convenient, and more reliable I/O.
