Sue Reed has worked in computer security at the National Bureau of Standards since 1972. She is the author and/or editor of a number of articles and Federal Information Processing Guidelines dealing with physical and administrative security measures, risk analysis and contingency planning. She is currently writing guidelines on security program development and on selecting alternate processing strategies for contingencies. Her degree is in psychology.

Dr. Branstad is the project manager for Computer Security and Integrity Technology in the Institute for Computer Sciences and Technology at the National Bureau of Standards. He has been active in many computer security activities in the public and private sectors. He was instrumental in the development of the Federal Data Encryption Standard and was the first Chairman of the ANSI standards group which is developing standards for using encryption in various security and integrity applications. Dr Branstad received a Ph.D. in Computer Science and has taught at the University of Maryland and George Washington University. Before coming to NBS in 1973, he was active in computer and speech rersearch with the Departmentn of Defense.
