Estimating the reorder point for a fill-rate target under a continuous review policy in the presence of non-standard lead-time demand distributions
2022, Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation ReviewRobust optimization for selective newsvendor problem with uncertain demand
2019, Computers and Industrial EngineeringCitation Excerpt :To the best of our knowledge, the first study of the distribution-free approach involved a min-max objective for the classical newsvendor model is the study by Scarf (1957). Scarf’s model was extensively studied in several works, such as (Adhikary, Roy, & Kar, 2018; Alfares & Elmorra, 2005; Gallego, 1992; Gallego & Moon, 1993; Moon & Choi, 1994, 1995; Moon & Gallego, 1994; Mostard, de Koster, & Teunter, 2005; Sarkar, Zhang, Majumder, Sarkar, & Seo, 2018; Sundar, Ravikumar, & Mahajan, 2018; Yue, Chen, & Wang, 2006; Yu & Zhai, 2014). More recently, Sarkar et al. (2018) provided a Stackelberg (leader-follower) game for a newsvendor problem with a consignment contract under distribution-free approach.
Quality improvement and backorder price discount under controllable lead time in an inventory model
2015, Journal of Manufacturing SystemsCitation Excerpt :That indicates the supplier has lost the opportunity to earn more profit, disappointed customers, and probably put some doubts in customer's mind about the nature of the storage capacity of the supplier. In this direction, Gallego [20] proposed a distribution free model with full backorder of unsatisfied demand and suggested an iterative procedure to obtain the optimal solution. Chuang et al. [21] investigated the periodic review inventory model with a mixture of backorders and lost sales by simultaneously controlling the lead time and setup cost.
