Abstract

This paper review the current status of the R&D of the Japanese national project for new generation supercomputing systems. The project identifies the basic technology for ultra-high speed supercomputers based on parallel processing with new devices. The target system is expected to operate at more than 10 Gflops. In this paper, the R&D on computer architecture is emphasized from the viewpoint of parallel processing.
