Abstract

This paper briefly reviews some approaches to the problem of extracting line features from images and provides a detailed description of a system which is being developed to address the problem. The system uses close cooperation between a semi-automatic system for feature extraction and a goal directed rule based system encapsulating high level knowledge about the image content.
