Abstract

While CCITT Recommendation X.121 (International Numbering Plan for Public Data Networks) played a key role in the evolution of modern computer communications, there have been recognized needs to enhance the capability of X.121 to meet new requirements, namely, to interwork with other networks. The prime intent of this paper is to present the latest progress of CCITT work on the International Numbering Plan for Public Data Networks and related activities. The rationale for modifications and future requirements are addressed.
