Abstract

INFNet is the data communication network built and managed by INFN. A historical outlook of its interworking aspects in relation to the OSI protocols availability and to the data communication technology development is given. It follows a brief description of its plans of development in the near future, together with a discussion of the problems that have to be solved in a short time.
