Abstract

In the last few years, after recognizing the importance of stability analysis for fuzzy and neural network controllers, many algorithms were developed in this field of research. Most of them are based on classical approaches that had been developed to enable an analytical proof of stability without computation of state-space trajectories. But in most cases, the application of these algorithms on fuzzy or neural network controllers makes analytical solutions impossible. Usually, parts of the algorithms have to be computed numerically which leads to a loss of analytical exactness. But, if no algorithm can be taken through analytically at all, the question arises, why not drop the analytical base and investigate the system behaviour by a direct computation of the system trajectories. In this paper, we propose a numerical stability analysis algorithm and present simulation results.
