Cloud computing, which refers to the applications delivered as services over the Internet and also the hardware and software in the data centers that provide these services, has transformed the industrial IT ecosystem (Marozzo, 2019; Armbrust et al., 2009). Cloud computing is seen by most industry analysts and observers as a disruptive technology, and the one that keeps changing not only the way in which enterprises conduct business, but also their operating models and knowledge (Sridhar, 2016).
