Linus Michaeli was born in Zilina, Slovakia , in 1945. Linus Michaeli was born in Zilina, Slovakia , in 1945. He received the PhD degree in telecommunication from Technical University of Transport and Telecommunication, Zilina, Slovakia in 1968, PhD degree from Slovak Technical University, Bratislava in 1979 and Doctor of Academy degree in Measurement science from Slovak Academy of Science, Bratislava in 2003. Since 1994, he has been a Full Professor at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication, Technical University of Košice, Košice, Slovakia. Since 1996, he has been visiting professor at the University of Calabria, Cosenza, Italy. His main interests are in ADC and DAC modelling and testing, software and hardware tools for improvement of the measurement accuracy, and virtual instrumentation. He has coordinated many research and application projects granted by the national and international research programmes. Prof. L. Michaeli is chairman of IMEKO Technical committee TC 4 “Measurement of electrical quantities” and member of the IMEKO General Council.

Sergio Rapuano received the MS degree with honors in electronic engineering in 1999 and the PhD degree in computer science, telecommunications and applied electromagnetism in 2003 from the University of Salerno, Italy. Currently he is Assistant Professor of Electric and Electronic Measurement at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Sannio. He is member of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society TC-10, TC-23 and TC-25. His research interests include digital signal processing for measurement in telecommunications, ADC and DAC characterization, distributed measurement systems, virtual laboratories, and medical measurement, with more than 100 papers published on journals, books and conference proceedings. S. Rapuano received the Outstanding Young Engineer Award 2007 from the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society.
