Abstract

This paper addresses issues of stability analysis and H control for a class of fuzzy time-delay descriptor systems described by an extended Takagi–Sugeno (T–S) fuzzy model. A delay-dependent stability criterion is first presented, and a H control synthesis approach is then developed. Both the stability criterion and the H controller synthesis are based on the solutions of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, two examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the approaches proposed in this paper.

Nevertheless, previous studies on UPVs systems have few results on the SMC method, which is the third motivation of the research. In addition, since many practical systems suffer from time delays and the delay may lead to instability, moreover, will degrade the control performances severely, the topic of time delay systems analysis has become very hot [29–33]. Therefore, many results about the T-S fuzzy descriptor time-delay systems have been published [34,35] and the study of the SMC method for systems with state or control delays is of great significance to promote the application of sliding mode control theory [36–38].
