James F. Annett is Professor of Physics at the University of Bristol. He was educated at the University of Cambridge, finishing his undergraduate studies in 1982 and completing his Ph.D. in 1985. He had postdoctoral positions at Emmanuel College Cambridge and at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He was then Assistant Professor in physics at Pennsylvania State University, before moving to the University of Bristol in 1994. His research is in the computational electronic structure

His research is in the computational electronic structure of solids, with a special interest in the theory of unconventional superconductors.

P.V. Coveney, BA MA DPhil (Oxon) CChem CPhys FRSC FInst Phys holds a Chair in Physical Chemistry, is Director of the Centre for Computational Science (CCS) and an Honorary Professor in Computer Science at University College London.
