  • Improvement of the detection of myocardial ischemia thanks to information technologies

    2007, International Journal of Cardiology
    Citation Excerpt :

This kind of systems will allow to transmit without delay to emergency medical services the digitized ECGs together with the patient's electronic personal medical record and a previously stored baseline ECG, called reference ECG, as soon as the first symptoms occur. Their large scale use is going to be promoted by the latest WHO eHealth Resolution for the development of information and communication technologies for health [8]. Transmural myocardial ischemia is usually diagnosed on the ECG by a deviation of the ST segment toward the involved region of at least 0.1 or 0.2 mV in at least two contiguous leads [9].
