Improving adaptivity and fairness of processing real-time tasks with QoS requirements on clusters through dynamic scheduling
Highlights
► A novel scheduling strategy named AFSS was proposed. ► AFSS can guarantee excellent adaptivity and fairness. ► The GS and LA algorithms in AFSS are discussed and analyzed. ► Several theorems are given to prove the effectiveness of AFSS.

3E: Energy-efficient elastic scheduling for independent tasks in heterogeneous computing systems
2013, Journal of Systems and SoftwareCitation Excerpt :As a result, for those tasks with expected finish times but no deadlines, they are not feasible solutions. In our earlier work (Ge et al., 2005; Zhu et al., 2011, 2011; Zhu and Lu, 2009, 2009), we have investigated some scheduling strategies on heterogeneous multiprocessor systems. However, such work did not consider the elastic energy conservation issue and the important case that users have expected finish time but not strict deadlines for tasks.
