Abstract

Based on the GF-1 data from June to September in 2018, the vegetation coverage was obtained by using dimidiate pixel model in Haiyan County demonstration area. The study area was divided into three areas with vertical zonality based on DEM data, which were high mountain, medium mountain and low mountain. The temporal and spatial variation characteristics of vegetation coverage in Haiyan County demonstration area in 2018 were studied. Results showed: 1) The vegetation coverage of Haiyan County demonstration area was high. The vegetation coverage area accounted for over 93% of the total area of Haiyan County demonstration area. 2) The vegetation coverage in Haiyan demonstration area was generally higher in the north and lower in the south. The high vegetation coverage area increased from June to August, and decreased from August to September. The overall vegetation coverage showed an increasing trend. 3) Spatially, the vegetation in Haiyan County demonstration area was mainly distributed in the medium mountain area, and the least in the high mountain area.
