Shuffle-Based Multilanguages

Abstract

In this paper we introduce a new class of formal languages called shuffle-based multilanguages which generalize both context-free and Marcus contextual languages. We study some properties of shuffle-based multilanguages related to the requirements of mildly context-sensitive formalisms.
