In this paper, a model for representing and analysing the design of a software system is proposed. The scheme is based on Petri net formalism and allows representation of both control and data flows in an integrated manner. Both the structure and the behaviour of the system can be modelled using this scheme. Analysis and verification of some behavioural properties provide a certain degree of design validation prior to implementation.
