The Proceedings of the XVII EBL—17th Brazilian Logic Conference, 2014: A preface

The Brazilian Logic Conference (in Portuguese, Encontro Brasileiro de Lógica, or EBL) is already a traditional event on the agenda of prominent researchers in Brazil and Latin America in the areas of Logic, Foundations and Philosophy of Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Informatics and Artificial Intelligence.

In its seventeen editions, the events have attracted the attention of many researchers throughout the world, and previous versions of the EBL have been very successful. The EBL became an important meeting point and discussion forum for students and scholars interested in the interdisciplinary study of Logic, and has helped to shape the personality of Brazilian logic. During all these years, the event toured between the states of São Paulo, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro and Bahia. More specifically, in the cities of Campinas (1977, 1978), Recife (1979), Campinas (1980, 1981), São José dos Campos (1983), Rio de Janeiro (1984), São José dos Campos (1986), São Paulo (1988), Itatiaia (1993), Salvador (1996), Itatiaia (1999), Campinas (2003), Itatiaia (2006), Paraty (2008) and Petrópolis (2011).
