Abstract

Purpose

Aims to discuss the various options for presenting the output of the search results of various online information systems.

Design/methodology/approach

Investigates and evaluates various methods of presenting search results employed by certain online information systems.

Findings

Different online information systems have different strengths and weaknesses relative to one another, and options present in one system may not be present in others.

Originality/value

Provides a comparison of the output of various online information systems, pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of the systems examined.
