Abstract:

Network function placement of virtual elements on physical resources in a highly dynamic 6G environment is a major challenge. We propose a novel framework to design it as a complex and dynamic collective process. We provide an analytical model and an algorithm based on multiplex networks and evolutionary game theory. Our model enables a placement scheme with low-latency connections and minimum number of deployed functions, while reducing/minimizing the interference. Findings shed light on that the cooperation strategy enables the dynamic distribution of functions as outcome of a social dilemma.
