Abstract:
This paper presents the design of a linear parameter-varying (LPV) controller for a tensegrity-membrane system. The controller is designed to deploy the tensegrity-membrane system from its initial packaged configuration to its final deployed configuration. The state-feedback control method is used and the control design is based on the linearized models at 18 equilibriums. The resulting LPV controller performs well when implemented in a nonlinear simulation of the tensegrity-membrane system.
