Abstract:
The use of social media to network or connect users across the globe has led to high demand in spectrum utilisation hence there is a need for faster data transmission. Faster data transmission can be achieved through the implementation of techniques which minimizes delays in sensing idle channels for SU data transmission. In this study, we implement a channel selection algorithm to minimize channel sensing and switching delays. MATLAB simulation tool was used to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed scheme. The proposed scheme minimizes both the sensing delay and switching rate.
