Abstract:

The rate of access to power is substantially lower in remote rural areas of Africa countries. Microgrids are a beneficial future electrical energy network that is flexible, dependable, and financially feasible to expand access to electricity. Microgrids are significantly playing a key role in the reduction of carbon emissions, minimizing the cost of energy, and developing communities’ well- being. The different tasks, benefits, and risk analyses of microgrid systems were reviewed in this paper. Some researchers have explored challenges and compared control techniques of microgrid configurations. Finally, the control, operation, and managing of microgrids have related technical problems such as steadiness, power quality concerns, power handling, bidirectional power movement, frequency and voltage fluctuations, financial activity, harmonized and facilitated utilization of many distributed generators. These related problems and PESTLE Analysis need to be carefully examined and monitored to make the adoption of MG systems effective, competitive, valuable, and beneficial.
