Abstract:

Augmented reality(AR) is becoming increasing popular in engineering application. Though AR has been adopted in entertainment industry, the adoption for professional use, especially in water hydraulic is still lagging behind. In the previous studies, collaborative design platform of the water hydraulic valve(WHVCDP) mainly helps designers from different time and places to design the hydraulic valve structures. However it has shortages in interactivity, co-presence awareness and inspiring from the same type of bionic structure in collaborative design. In this paper, therefore, we propose a new collaborative platform using AR to promote the designers collaboration experience. Besides, we put forward an AR type water hydraulic valve collaborative design model in this study. Bionic principle and nonlinear design theory were used to join the bionic nonlinear module model in collaborative design platform. Additionally, taking the design of valve plug as an example, the designing process of the WHVCDP is demonstrated in this paper.
