Abstract:

Efficient resource allocation is paramount to ensuring optimal quality of services and effective utilization of radio resources. This paper presents a novel framework designed for communication mode selection, admission control, and user association within the realm of next-generation radio access networks (NG RAN), tailored to accommodate the unique demands of 6G enabling technologies. These encompass diverse aspects such as heterogeneous three-dimensional networks, cutting-edge cell-free architectures, and the dynamic integration of artificial intelligence. The framework further embraces the synergy of cloud-RAN, edge computing, cloud computing, massive multiple-input-multiple-output (mMIMO), and advanced beamforming techniques. What sets this proposed framework apart is its integrated and holistic approach. In an asynchronous and parallel manner, it addresses the intricate algorithms governing access to radio resources in 6G cell-free RANs. A primary focus lies on enhancing Quality-of-Service (QoS) metrics while optimizing the utilization of scarce radio and natural resources. This comprehensive strategy also leads to a reduction in the complexity of handoff management and optimizes the overall lifetime of sessions. By seamlessly unifying these components, the framework represents a significant advancement towards a more efficient and responsive network infrastructure aligned with the evolving landscape of advanced wireless communication systems.
