Abstract:
We discuss some mathematical tools and techniques supporting the construction of rigorous bounds producing, numerically convergent algorithms, which are formulated in terms of computer arithmetic operations. Two important computer-arithmetic effects are considered and their application as stopping criteria is illustrated.
