Abstract:

The fifth-generation (5G) New Radio (NR) technology makes real the promise to considerably enhance the system performance. In the 5G era, the Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) represents an effective solution to achieve global coverage and provide the connection anytime and anywhere. In this context, the scientific community focuses on high throughput satellites as they increase the system capacity, user throughput, and system spectrum utilization by employing advanced multi-beam transmissions based on the frequency reuse principle. In this paper, we conduct a simulation campaign to compare the three 3GPP frequency reuse schemes under different scenarios with the objective to study the impact of inter-beam interference on the system performance. Finally, some ideas are designated to tackle the issue of inter-beam interference in future works.
