Abstract:

As industrial digitization unfolds, the development of digital twin cities under the background of metaverse has gradually become a trend, and the constantly improved digital city technologies are poised to present new opportunities for the development and growth of cities. Edge computing enables application of 3D high-definition video streams under augmented reality scenarios and supports the construction of digital twin cities. The deployment strategies for edge servers can improve the service performance under such scenarios as digital twin cities. In response to the urban edge computing model with edge-cloud collaboration, in this paper, an edge server deployment strategy based on clustering algorithm and reinforcement learning is designed, and accordingly, the initial cluster center and range are firstly outputted on the strength of location information, followed by using the reinforcement learning algorithm to optimize the locations of edge computing servers in terms of load balancing, time delay and energy consumption; finally, a comparative experiment is conducted to verify the effectiveness of the strategy.
